During this time of the season, many of you string players are having issues with humidity and your instrument. In case you are wondering what’s actually happening with your instrument, a friend of mine wrote a very good article on that exact topic. Click here for the article.
In our opinion, the best way to control humidity is to keep your instrument in a humidified room. A simple room humidifier from Home Depot will do. If you want to get technical, it’s good to shoot for 40% relative humidity during the winter months. An alternative to a room humidifier, is a good case humidifier. We recommend Arion case humidifiers. You can find them online, or stop by our shop and purchase them for 19.95.
